Welcome to the FET Phase (Grades 10–12)
At Rockview College FET Phase, learners enter a period of academic mastery, critical thinking, and career exploration. Our CAPS-aligned curriculum, delivered through a Christ-centred lens, equips students with the knowledge, skills, and values needed to thrive in higher education, the workforce, and life.
We offer a streamed subject system that empowers learners to pursue their passions while receiving holistic support. Whether their interests lie in science, business, or the humanities, every learner is guided to rise with purpose and clarity. In addition, we believe in learning-by-doing through practical or vocational skills.
Subject Streams: Grade 10–12
Learners as a requirement from the Department of Basic Education (DBE) for the CAPS curriculum do four (4) compulsory subjects which are:
Compulsory Subjects List
- English Home Language
- English FAL
- Afrikaans FAL
- IsiZulu Home Language
- Mathematics / Mathematic Literacy
- Life Orientation
NB: Learners choose ONE HOME language + ONE FAL from languages. This will give them two (2) languages and Mathematics/Mathematic Literacy + Life Orientation another two (2) subjects making a total of four (4) subjects as required.
In addition, learners choose the following streams (A or B or C) as their option for college or university preparation:
Stream A: Sciences / STEM

- Engineering Graphics & Design
- Technology
- Technical Mathematics

- Agricultural Sciences
Stream B: Commercial / Business
- Business Studies
- Economics
- Accounting

Stream C: Humanities / Arts
- Geography / Tourism
- History
- Information Technology (coming soon)
Practical Subjects
- Consumer Studies (Fashion & Fabrics or Food & Nutrition)
- Welding
- Building Construction
NB: Learners after choosing subjects from the three streams (A or B or C) can choose one (1) to two (2) practical subjects. Learners at FET are required to do a total of seven (7) subjects: Four (4) from the compulsory list, one to three (1-3) from the streams A orB or C and, one to two (1-2) from the practical subject list to make a total of seven (7) subjects.
Computer Skills are offered to all learners to prepare them for the digital world.
